Flea & Tick Control

Fleas and ticks make pets miserable and can spread disease. We treat the home and yard together to break the life cycle.

Protect your pets and family from fleas and ticks.

  • Inspection to locate flea/tick harborage
  • Interior treatment of carpets, bedding, and furniture
  • Exterior yard treatment of shaded, humid harborage
  • Insect growth regulators to break the life cycle

Florida's warm, humid weather is paradise for fleas and ticks, which can reproduce explosively and remain active all year. A single pregnant flea can launch an infestation of thousands within weeks, and most of that population — eggs, larvae, and pupae — is hidden deep in carpet, bedding, and yard debris where pet treatments and vacuuming can't reach.

Beyond the itching and discomfort they cause pets, fleas and ticks are a human health concern: ticks can transmit several diseases, and flea bites can trigger allergic reactions. Because so much of the population is in the environment rather than on the animal, lasting control requires treating the home and yard in coordination with your veterinarian's on-pet products.

Common types we treat in South Florida

  • Indoor flea treatment. Targets carpets, rugs, pet bedding, and furniture where eggs and larvae develop, using products and growth regulators that break the flea life cycle.
  • Yard flea & tick treatment. Treats shaded, humid harborage areas of the yard — under decks, along fences, and in dense vegetation — where fleas and ticks wait for a host.
  • Life-cycle control. Because eggs and pupae resist many products, we use growth regulators and follow-up timing to interrupt every stage, not just adults.

Signs you may have a problem

  • Pets scratching, biting, or licking excessively
  • Tiny dark "flea dirt" specks in pet fur or bedding
  • Fast-moving fleas visible on pets or pant legs
  • Itchy bites around ankles and lower legs (people)
  • Ticks found on pets, in bedding, or after time outdoors

Our approach

We inspect to confirm the infestation and identify the hot spots, then treat indoors (carpets, bedding, harborage) and outdoors (shaded, humid yard areas) on a coordinated schedule. Because fleas have resistant egg and pupal stages, we use insect growth regulators and time a follow-up visit to catch newly emerged adults. We'll coordinate with your vet's on-pet products so every front is covered.

FAQ

Flea & Tick Control — FAQs

Both. On-pet products from your vet are essential, but most of a flea population lives in the environment — carpets indoors and shaded, humid areas outdoors. Treating the home and yard together is what breaks the cycle for good.
Vacuum thoroughly (and discard the bag), wash pet bedding on hot, and pick up items from the floor so we can treat carpets and harborage fully. We'll give you a simple prep checklist when we schedule.
Flea eggs and pupae are protected from many products and hatch over days to weeks. Seeing a few new adults afterward is normal — that's why we time a follow-up visit to catch them and finish the job.
