Ant Control
From kitchen counters to the foundation line, we trace ants back to the nest and treat the colony — not just the ones you see.
Few pests test a homeowner's patience like ants. You wipe down a trail across the counter, and an hour later it is back. That is because the ants marching across your kitchen are only a tiny fraction of a colony that may number in the tens of thousands — and South Florida's warm, humid climate lets several of the toughest species breed year-round.
Spraying the ants you can see often makes the problem worse: many local species respond to over-the-counter sprays by "budding," splitting one colony into several. Our technicians identify the exact species first, locate harborage and entry points, and use targeted, slow-acting baits and non-repellent products that the workers carry back to eliminate the queen and the colony at the source.
Common types we treat in South Florida
- Ghost ants. Tiny, pale, and almost translucent — the #1 indoor ant in South Florida. They love moisture and sweets and nest in dozens of small satellite colonies, which makes DIY treatment frustrating.
- White-footed ants. Form massive colonies (millions of members) in trees, shrubs, and wall voids. Sprays simply scatter them, so colony-level baiting is essential.
- Red imported fire ants. Build dome mounds in lawns and deliver painful, stinging bites. A real hazard for kids and pets — controlled with targeted mound and broadcast treatments.
- Carpenter ants. Large ants that excavate moist or damaged wood to nest, often signaling a hidden moisture issue. They can weaken wood over time if left alone.
- Big-headed & Caribbean crazy ants. Explosive outdoor populations that pour indoors in huge numbers, especially after rain. They require exterior perimeter and yard-wide strategies.
Signs you may have a problem
- Steady trails of ants along counters, baseboards, window sills, or the foundation
- Small piles of fine sawdust ("frass") near woodwork — a carpenter ant red flag
- Dome-shaped dirt mounds appearing in the lawn after rain
- Ants swarming pet food, sweets, or moisture around sinks and dishwashers
- Winged ants ("swarmers") near windows or light fixtures
Our approach
We start with species identification, then map the trails and entry points back to the nest. Treatment combines professional-grade baits the colony shares, non-repellent perimeter products that workers track inward, targeted crack-and-crevice work indoors, and exterior harborage reduction. We finish by sealing common entry points and advising on the moisture and food sources that draw ants in.
